The start of the excursion at Ivolginsky Datsan. The ritual "Goro" (the tradition of walking clockwise around the Datsan and spinning the prayer drums.)

At the foot of Hamar-Daban, on the vast steppes, in a quiet tract, in 30 km from the city of Ulan-Ude there is a spiritual capital of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia -  Ivolginsky datsan (temple). In sunny weather, sparkling golden temples greet pilgrims and guests. It seems as though the transient time has stopped and the air is filled with pungent and spicy aroma of the East. In datsan (temple) service-khurals, highlighting major events of Buddhist history, the daily rituals in honor of defenders and guardians of the doctrine - sahyuusanov and other rituals that help to protect the believers from the various negative forces are held. Ivolginski temple is the center of Buddhism in Russia, attracting many pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. Within the walls of the datsan a unique imperishable body of Hambo Lama Itigilova stored, who after 75 years of burial has revealed himself in the very same lotus position, in which died.

The excursion program "Visit the old believers".

A trip to the villages of Tarbagatai, Bolshoi Kunalei takes you back to the remote past. A typical Semeyskiy village street strikes a visitor with brightly colored window-shutters, eaves and plat bands. The museum at the village church displays a collection of antiques, icons and utensils. You will enjoy a folklore program which demonstrates the unique technique of polyphonic singing, Semeyskiy colorful dressing, some ancient ceremonies and games, and offers a feast of traditional old-believers' dishes. A fascinating excursion to the village includes a visit to one of the ancient houses and acquaints the guests with the material culture of the old-believers.

The excursion « Siberian coachman».

Travelling in a low wide horse-sledge through the taiga and on Baikal ice.

Transportation by a low wide sledge is a very old way of transportation in Siberia. While travelling you will stop at interesting places: fishermen's houses, hot wells, as well as at ice caves. Lunch at fishermen's winter cabins.

« Winter fairytale of Baikal» (the most popular excursion).

Terms of working: January 20- April 25.

In the period from  the 10th of December till the  20th of January the ''Winter fairy tale" is replaced by "To the Baikal fishermen" .

We offer you to get a glimpse of Baikal Jewel - the Chivyrkuiskii gulf, the most beautiful gulf, admirable and unique in any season of the year. There is nothing more beautiful than the Chivyrkuiskii gulf, which was really created by the Lord! Visiting the hot wells and ice grottos on the islands. We will drive the sledges following a car on the ice. Meeting fishermen and lunching with fresh fish.

« Barguzin valley» Travelling to little Mongolia

In 50 km from  Baikal there are expanses of the river Barguzin. According to the legend it's the homeland of Chengis Chan's mother, with its numerous monuments of nature and archaeology. Rock paintings of 3000 years old, a garden of stones with its total area of 10 km2, a salty lake and majestic rock remains. The bull-stone is not only a stone, but a sacred place for the Barguzin buryats. Travelling by car to northern steppes of Asia you will feel a sharp contrast to Baikal nature, visiting the village of Barguzin, the first Russian settlement beyond Baikal. The way is 200 km.
