Things to know
- Best time to go is April till November.
- For pocket money we recommend 15 -25 Euro per day
- Depending which restaurant you choose and in which town you are you have to calculate for lunch or dinner 2-8 Euro per meal (including drinks). Especially at the beginning of the tour you should spare your stomach. Exotic food at the local markets you should not try immediately. During the last days you can be a little more "braver".
- It is not necessary to change Euros in Dollars. Everywhere you can change Euro. In all of the cities are cash machines available. Also you can find "ATM" (Automatic teller machine with German instruction). You have to be careful with counterfeit money (banknotes and coins).
- 1 Euro = +/- 4,00 Soles (10. October 2008)
- Electricity and most of the sockets are the same like in Europe (220 V and 60 Hz, just in Arquipa we have 50 Hz)
- Many cities in Peru are located in more than 3000 meters altitude (Cusco, Huaraz, Lake Titicaca,..). For this reason it can be getting cold in the evening and you will be happy if you have a nice and warm jacket.
- The rain in the Andes is between December and February. Peru's rains are not like the monsoon in India but between October and April you should put a waterproof in your luggage.
- Non escorted tour: we will pick up you at the airport and we give you a briefing of the tour. There you have the possibility to ask your "last-minute-questions" . After that briefing we will give you a folder with Vouchers and Tickets.
