July 7. Ulan Bator - Kharkhorin

Breakfast at the hotel. Checking-out.
08:00 - Excursion to the central Buddhist temple Gandan. Examination of the statue of 26.5 m height.
10:00 - Departure from Ulan Bator to the ancient capital of Mongolia Kharkhorin. The way is 380 km. On the way to Kharkhorin, in 270 km from Ulan Bator, we will visit the "Sandy Dunes" of the Great Gobi Desert. Tourist lunch. There will be an opportunity to rent camels from the local residents and to ride on the sandy dunes. After a short walk on the sandy dunes and tourist lunch we will continue our way to Kharkhorin. In the afternoon we will arrive at the tourist camp. Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight in yurts.

July 8. Waterfall.

Breakfast. After breakfast we will drive to the valley of the Orkhon river, have a trip to the wonderful basaltic plateau and see the waterfall on the canyon of the river Orkhon. Sometimes  the waterfall doesn't have any water, its availability depends on the weather conditions, but the beauty of these places is unbroken without water and becomes even more beautiful. In the evening we return to the campsite. Dinner.  Overnight in yurts.

July 9. Erdene Zuu monastery - National Park Hustai

07.00 - Breakfast. After breakfast we depart for the sightseeing in the most majestic monastery of Mongolia, Erdene Zuu, that was built in 1586. Inspection of the three temples of Buddha and the ruins of an old monastery. Excursion to the stone turtle - the symbol of the old city and the stone phallus - the symbol of fertility (a cure for infertility). Visit to the souvenir rows. Lunch at the camp. After lunch we leave for the campsite in the National Park Hustai that remained the world's only herd of 148 heads of Przewalski horses that live at present in the natural environment. Evening: Arrival at the tourist camp. Accommodation. Dinner. Horse riding on the outskirts of the camping. Visit to the museum. Overnight in yurts.

July 10. Hustai National Park - Ulan Bator

Breakfast. Going by car to Hustai park. Inspection of the herd of the wild horses of Przewalski and other wild animals. Journey to the stone statues of the Turkic period. Lunch at the camp. After lunch- departure for Ulan Bator. The journey takes around 2-3 hours. On arriving in Ulan Bator - transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.

July 11. Ulan Bator - Naadam festival

Breakfast. Visit to the national festival «Naadam Festival»
Every year in Mongolia from 11th till 13th of July they celebrate the national holiday of the victory of the People's Revolution, that occurred in 1921; there are contests in favorite national sports during the holiday. In every aimag and sommon Naadam is celebrated. Many Mongolians love to spend the holiday in Ulan Bator city.
Verbatim from Mongolian Naadam means"the three games of men", traditional competitions in three national sports: wrestling, archery and horse racing. The History of Naadam goes back to the ancient times: competitions among the most skilful and strong men were held in early summer. At this time the cattle was driven to abundant summer pastures and ranchers could afford  relaxation. Often in such competitions marksmen for the military troops were selected. Since 1912 the venue of Naadam was removed to the  foot of  Saint Mount Bogd, located near present-day Ulan Bator city. The main of the sports are Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery. A large number of participants and guests gather at the celebration. There are sounds of the traditional music, retail outlets offering a variety of the Mongolian cuisine; at the festival one can meet a lot of people in the national costumes.
Usually Naadam begins on the main square of Ulan Bator at about 9 o'clock in the morning. Then with a solemn march participants move to the central stadium. At about 11 o'clock in the morning at the stadium the solemn opening ceremony begins. The President of the country appears with a congratulatory word. By tradition before the beginning of the celebratory actions the raising ceremony of the state flag of truce - 9 white bundles made from the hair of 1000 thoroughbred stallions is held at the center of the stadium. The program includes dances in the traditional costumes, travel of the yurt of Genghis Khan mounted on a huge cart of the stadium, fancy riding and much more. Also the closing ceremony of the games is held solemnly.
In the afternoon we will travel to the Terelj National Park. Visiting the caves of 100 lamas. Accommodation at the tourist camp. Dinner. Overnight in yurts.

July 12. Terelj National Park Gorkhi.

Breakfast. After breakfast there will be a horseback tour through the national park Gorkhi Terelj. We will visit a sacred Turtle mountain and the temple Ariabala. Lunch at the camping. 3 pm - 5 pm - return to Ulan Bator. 6 pm - watching of a folkloric show.  You will get acquainted with the national singing, playing the national instruments, colorful dances. Program of the show is designed for tourists and lasts for 1 hour. Mongolian artists do not get tired and will surprise you with their skills and variety of interesting acts. After the concert we be transferred to the hotel.

July 13. Ulan Bator - South Gobi (Dalanzadgad) - Elyn Am

Breakfast. Checking-out. Transfer to the airport. Afternoon flight from Ulan Bator to Dalanzadgad, the south of the Gobi Desert. On arriving at the airport in Dalanzadgad - transfer to the tourist camp. Accommodation in a tent. Dinner. After dinner there will be a trip to the reserve Elyn Am (the Mongolian for "Mouth vulture") Dinner at a restaurant in the camping. After dinner - familiarity with the process of preparation of the Mongolian national drink "sutey tsai" (milk tea). Overnight in yurts.

July 14. Bayanzag (graveyard of dinosaurs) - Mongolian large sandy dunes

Breakfast. After breakfast we drive to Bayanzag. In these places in 1922 the excavations of dinosaur skeletons were carried out. Tourists will find themselves in the era of the dinosaurs (60 million years ago). Tourist lunch. After lunch - a trip to the great sandy dunes of the Great Mongolian Gobi desert. In the evening we return to the tourist camp. Dinner. Overnight in yurts.

July 15. Ulan Bator

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure from the Gobi to Ulan Bator. Meeting at the airport of Genghis Khan. Shopping in the souvenir and cashmere shops. Cashmere wool - the most expensive of all the wool fibers, it is extremely soft and gentle to the touch. It is obtained from the cashmere goat. Special demand among the tourists enjoy the blanket from camel hair in the original packaging of the enterprise "Gobi. Its  cost is about $ 80. After a little shopping, we visit Buddha Park and the Zaisan memorial. Lift to the observation deck. Visit to the restaurant "Mongolian barbecue" (buffet). Transfer and overnight at the hotel.
